William Aldridge

William “Bill” Aldridge has been a Project Engineer/Designer at Nel PreTech Corporation since 1996. He lives in a world of precision metrology, CMM programming, and CAD-driven design workflows. At Nel PreTech, Bill provides dimensional inspection, reverse engineering, and complex measurement outcomes. By translating dense inspection data into accurate, production-ready geometry, engineers confidently use Bill's work for validation and manufacturing calls.

Before Nel PreTech, Bill worked as an Engineer for a company that manufactured high-frequency RF cables for radar systems, satellites, and aircraft. He spent his time there working on tooling design, custom fixtures, and process development. He is not unfamiliar with highly controlled manufacturing environments. That experience still shapes how he approaches inspection planning, CMM strategy, and design intent interpretation.

Bill studied engineering at the University of Illinois Chicago. His education was grounded in hands-on experience. It also gave him a strong technical foundation. Since then, he has worked to develop a reputation for solving challenging measurement problems. He can optimize inspection workflows and act as a liaison between manufacturing reality and digital design models. This is particularly helpful when tolerances are tight, and accuracy can be the only outcome.

Outside of the lab, Bill is an accomplished musician. He plays a couple of instruments and runs his own recording studio. Audio production requires creativity and attention to detail. This is also reflected in his engineering work. His work comes from an out-of-the-box problem-solving mindset.
