| JOB TITLE | Technical Director |
| JOB DESCRIPTION | This position involves the acquisition, maintenance, and dissemination of technical processes, procedures, and applications knowledge related to our laboratory and metrology practice. It also entails basic monitoring and improvement of laboratory measurement practices and laboratory applications software and hardware. This is a key management* position and reports directly to the Operations Manager. |
| JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES | The
Technical Director responsibilities include establishing, supervising,
and documenting CMM and Dimensional Metrology training programs for all
new and current lab technicians. This process also requires review and
documentation of the proficiency status of all CMM and Dimensional Metrology
Lab technicians on an annual basis (minimum). The training systems must
be documented, meet company goals, and effectively in compliance with
ISO 9000 and other accreditation standards that are required of Nel PreTech
Corporation.
The Technical Director is responsible for acquiring, maintaining, documenting, and communicating all up to date knowledge of lab systems and software, dimensional measurement and reporting techniques, and measurement industry technical developments. He / She is responsible for maintaining and developing laboratory application software and laboratory computer systems hardware. The Technical Director will also head committees and participate in special projects and assignments geared toward process improvement. Finally, the employee will be required to understand and work well within the hierarchy of the company and make every effort to maintain a professional and productive team working relationship with all coworkers. |
| JOB AUTHORITIES | The Technical Director has the authority to communicate via company memorandums and other documenting devices the defined procedures and policies for Laboratory computer processes as well as specific employee performance in regards to the same. The Technical Director also has purchasing authority within approved budgets for laboratory systems. The Technical Director also requires continuing education with respect to measurement processes and has authority to interact with supplier technical resources in whatever way necessary to obtain critical information. Company provided education is available on request and approval basis. The Technical Director has the authority to create and issue training documents, create mandatory training requirements, and create a formal documented review process for all laboratory employees. |
